Texas Rx Eligibility



To be eligible for Texas Rx you must:

  • Be entitled to Medicare Part A and/or be enrolled in Medicare Part B.
  • Live in the State of Texas.
  • Be enrolled in one Medicare Prescription Drug Plan at a time.
  • Not be enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan (HMO, PPO), unless they are a member of Medicare Private-Fee-For-Service plan that does not offer Medicare prescription drug coverage or are enrolled in an 1876 Cost Plan.

You can enroll in Texas Rx:

  • When you first retire after age 65.
  • When you first become eligible to enroll for Medicare.
  • During open enrollment. Open enrollment is held annually during November 15th through December 31st of each year.

Texas Rx is offered by Scott & White Health Plan, a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan that contracts with Medicare.
