What are fraud, waste, and abuse?
- Fraud is the intentional submission of false claims to obtain funds.
- Healthcare waste and abuse refers to events or practices that are inconsistent with accepted business or medical practices.
Scott & White Health Plan (SWHP) has contracted with Global Compliance to offer a hotline. The hotline allows you to report concerns about potential fraud, waste, or abuse. All concerns are reported through Global Compliance, which allows you to remain anonymous. You will still receive updates on your concern. When you report an issue to the hotline, it is sent to SWHP for follow-up.

How can you help us fight healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse?
- Protect your Medicare or Health Plan ID card;
- Check your SWHP Explanation of Benefits (EOB) or Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) monthly. Make sure there are no services or products listed that you did not receive;
- Report concerns about potential fraud, waste, and abuse.
If you feel that you have been a victim of healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse, file your concern
Concerns may also be reported to
- The Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) at (800) MEDICARE or TTY (877) 486-2048; or
- The Office of Inspector General (OIG) at (800) HHS-TIPS or TTY (800) 377-4950.
