If you want to do something on your own, you can go to the Dialog Center and take an easy, quick and confidential interactive test to help you determine if treatment is needed. If so, you can call or e-mail a personal health coach who can guide you.
For those in the Temple area, we offer a comprehensive, intensive outpatient treatment program. This program is covered by SWHP and you can refer yourself. Simply call 254-724-2585 for additional information, to enter the program or refer a family member or friend. This program is an excellent way to begin recovery. It is staffed by knowledgeable professionals who are skilled in the treatment of chemical dependency and other mental health problems.
What can you expect?
There is an initial confidential assessment. After which a specific program designed for an individual's specific needs is recommended. Treatment is directed to the whole person not just the substance use. The aim of the program is to help chemically dependent individuals and their families learn how to break the destructive cycle of addiction and replace it with healthy living.
The Alcohol and Drug Dependency Treatment Program (ADDTP) offers both a day program for Senior Care/Medicare patients and an evening program generally reserved for non-Medicare patients. ADDTP will evaluate the patient within 1-2 weeks of referral and often can start the patient in the program the same week. Same day urgent cases may be accommodated on a case by case basis.
