In response to the growing health care needs of College Station, Scott & White Healthcare announces the opening of the Arrington Road Clinic and Pharmacy, located at 1296 Arrington Road near the corner of Arrington Road and Hwy 40 in College Station.
An open house and ribbon cutting event was held on Wednesday, July 7 from 4:30p.m. - 6p.m., and the community was invited to meet the staff and tour the new facility.
The Arrington Road location is an extension of the Scott & White College Station Clinic, which has a 25-year history of service in the Brazos Valley and has outgrown its current space on University Drive.
"Scott & White has been serving and growing with Bryan/College Station for a quarter of a century and this new clinic is a natural step in that growth and our long-standing commitment to the communities we serve," said Alfred B. Knight, M.D., president and CEO of Scott & White Healthcare. "This clinic expansion offers ‘hometown' expertise provided by 110 providers in over 30 specialties and access to more Scott & White experts and services throughout the Central Texas region."
Scott & White College Station Clinic providers are connected by a unique electronic medical record system that will connect the new Arrington Road Clinic and Pharmacy with the entire Scott & White system. Arrington Road Clinic x-ray and laboratory services will also be connected to the College Station Clinic so patients' medical information and referrals are readily available.
"We're opening this new clinic and pharmacy to meet the increasing medical needs of the residents of College Station," said William Rayburn, M.D., associate chief medical officer for Scott & White College Station. "We're confident that these new facilities will provide more convenient care for our patients."
Clinic hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Four board certified family medicine physicians will be moving from the Scott & White College Station Clinic location on University Drive to the Arrington Road Clinic. The team of physicians includes Kristopher Knoop, M.D., Wade Richardson, M.D., Thomas Wagner, M.D., and Jeffrey Waguespack, M.D.
The combined clinic and pharmacy will feature 13 exam rooms, a 900-square-foot lobby, and a covered drop-off area. The pharmacy -- opening later this summer -- will offer a full range of prescription services. In addition to comprehensive medication reviews for patients, it will offer specialized monitoring and educational services for patients with diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, asthma and other pulmonary diseases. The new pharmacy will also serve as a teaching site for students from the Texas A&M College of Pharmacy and post-graduate pharmacy residents from around the U.S.
