Insurance Company of Scott & White Brings New Competition to Central Texas Individual & Family Health Insurance Market

TEMPLE, Texas (October 10, 2011) - The Insurance Company of Scott & White (ICSW) has announced a new suite of affordable health plan options - aptly named "MyPlan" - for the individual and family market. This move is a strategic opportunity for Scott & White Health Plan and ICSW to expand its membership with a competitively priced PPO option for the individual market.

The plans are available for effective dates of November 1, 2011 for people who reside within the ICSW service area which covers the Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown metro area, Bryan-College Station, Temple-Killeen, Waco and west to San Angelo.

Scott & White's constantly expanding network of physicians and hospitals has afforded ICSW dramatic growth in their individual and family plans membership. "Those seeking coverage will have 16 plans to choose from, including HSA options and supplemental insurance products as well," said Lee Green, VP of Sales & Marketing at the Insurance Company of Scott & White. "We've had a strong presence in the individual market for nearly 25 years and I believe our MyPlan offering will be a very attractive alternative to what's out there today. Our operations take place right here in Temple, our local service is top notch, and most importantly, we're part of one of the highest ranking healthcare delivery systems in the country - Scott & White Healthcare."

Affordable, value-packed plans

For its new generation of products ICSW decided to approach the individual market with a suite of traditional designed PPO options that most consumers are familiar with. In addition, high deductible plans with 100% coverage are also available. "It's an easy way to build an essential foundation of major medical coverage. And the MyPlan component allows members to add additional coverage they want - like dental, life insurance, and income protection policies such as cancer, hospitalization, and medical surgical policies that pay money directly to the member. It's a build-your-own benefits approach that seems to be resonating in the market. People can buy the coverage they want, and forego coverage they don't feel they need," Green added.

Monthly premiums start in the $50 range depending on county of residence, health history and the deductible selected. All MyPlan products cover preventive care at 100 percent (before deductible or copayment) and have an easy to understand two-tier prescription benefit.
