Dental health is an important part of overall health. Dental insurance makes it easier for you — and your teeth — to stay healthy. We offer dental benefits through Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife), 200 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10166. This is optional coverage that can be added to your Scott and White health insurance plan.
Covered dental expenses include:
- 2 oral evaluations per year
- 2 cleanings per year
- Fillings
- Radiographs
- Root canal therapy
- Emergency treatment of dental pain
- Oral surgery (extraction of teeth and roots)

Please note that you will not receive a physical dental ID card. Your benefits can be accessed at your dental provider using your Social Security number or SWHP member number.
