Rapid Flu Test
Rapid Flu Test
As of April 1, 2008, Scott & White Health Plan (SWHP) began to provide coverage for the Rapid Flu Test, CPT code 87804, for children ages 0 through 5 and SeniorCare members and according to the member's contracted benefits. Reimbursement for this test will be made according to the provider's current fee schedule.
Based on a recent study, the sensitivity of the rapid flu test is highest for people between the ages of 0 - 5 and dramatically decreases for those beyond the age of 5.(1)
